Huerfano Bliss honeydew melon

I think there were at least four fruits—or there are now, anyway (I think), except that I harvested one of them on 3 Sep 2019. To me, it tasted like a mix between bacon, a Crispy Cream donut, and a carrot. It was very sweet, except near the rind. To another taster, it tasted like a mix between cantaloupe and honeydew with a very delayed slight bacon taste. Another taster liked it, but I forgot to probe for more detailed information. It has firm, sort of crunchy flesh (yes, it's quite ripe: it slipped from the vine, in fact). I agree that it's not a storage melon (the whole stem came off).

The fruit was maybe about four or five pounds, by the look of it. Compared to Orangeflesh Honeydew, it was a lot bigger, tasted less like bubble gum (maybe it tasted a bit like it, though), and seemed less likely to store well. Orangeflesh Honeydew seemed to store quite well. The texture was different.

I harvested the final two fruits on 9 Sep 2019. One was ripe and splitting (I cut it in half and pit both halves wrapped in plastic wrap in the refrigerator. The other was not fragrant (and so may not be ripe).
